Hi I just downloaded Vista Transformation Pack 6 to make my computer look like Vista. I haven't installed it yet because I heard it replaces system files which can then mess up your computer. Is that true? Also will it slow down my computer?

Most transformation packs, if it replaces system files, usually backs it up. I'm sure this one is no different as it is readily available everywhere. Since it's replacing the files and not installing anything else (unless of course if there are other tools that comes bundled and you choose to install), it shouldn't slow you down too much unless your system is really, really ancient.
 
you probably already know this, but the best option is the find the system requirements for this and see what is required by your system to operate with it.
