I've been playing Bioshock for a good while on my laptop but I noticed something strange. My specs are:
Video cards: 260m sli (with integrated 9400m) updated to the latest drivers, version 197.16
CPU: p8600 oc'ed to 3.0 Ghz
Ram: 4GB @1333 Mhz
Mobo chipset: Nvidia nforce 730i
bios version: A03
With everything maxed out the game gets about 25-33 fps, but I noticed that with everything set to the lowest possible setting both in game and through nvidia control panel (with all texture optimizations turned on and texture filtering set to high performance) the fps of the game increased to 30-36 fps (same level), even with the resolution set to 640x480! This seemed odd to me that Bioshock would do this because this rig maxes out Crysis at about the same speed.
My question is whether or not this is the best performance I can get out of the game.
Also, are the latest 197.16 drivers the best choice for my sli setup?
