I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I couldn't SEE a better suited one :) Sorry if i'ts not

I'm creating a campaign on promoting legal downloads as part of my BTEC National Diploma in Media Studies and have a questionnaire for you guys to answer, if you'd be so kind :D

(You can pick more than one answer to each question.)



Which type of media are you most likely to download? (Legally or Illegally)
Music | TV | Films | Software

What entices you to download rather than buy physical items?
Easier to do | Often cheaper | Ready for MP3/iPod | Other (describe)

Have you ever downloaded illegally?
Yes | No

How much do the possible repercussions from illegally downloading affect you?
Doesn't bother me
I'm aware, but I can't see anything happening
I don't download illegally much because of this
I never download because of this

Which of the following would entice you to download legally?
Deals, competitions etc. for members
Media backed up online in case it's deleted
Better prices
User-friendly software with a wide community base (social networking)
Monthly subscription with a limited number of downloads (works out cheaper)

Thanks fatback, if you don't want to comment on whether you have or have not illegally downloaded then you obviously don't have to. Don't see why it should be locked.
 
I don't see any discussing going on. He asked some simple questions for the studies he is doing. If you don't feel right answering them in this thread then you can PM him or e-mail him.

Although I do fell that 2 of those question people shouldn't answer because they do violate the rules(in a way). The other three doesn't even have anything to really do with anything illegal so IMO they are fine.

I guess we will just let a mod decide. If he gives it the OK then good. If not then I'm sure he can find some where else to do his questionnaire.
 
i agree with Fatback. done it all. just don't talk here about it. wish they did though. not much tolerance. been there and done dat. still do. never payed for nothing. go buy a proggy and you can download for free. look for a proggy like primavera project management. premier several thousand. risky business though. lots of virus. then again im not talking about my sources. we all have them.
im done.....mods.....i let it go.

The fact that I'm not getting any physical item with the download and still having to pay the same price sometimes is crazy to me.
 
Ganzey your to quick to jump the gun on everything, as fatback said there was no discussion. my answers are basically the same as fatbacks

the thing is, i never would have bought the music/movies/whatever anyways. so they wouldn't have made any money, whether i downloaded or not.

Sorry, this discussion can't go any further. We don't allow any discussion regarding illegal downloading, whether it's advice on how to do it, if you've ever done it, would you do it...etc.
