Questions about computers

yes I know the title is very plain but to the point, is there any computer that anyone knows of that has ability to be using a tablet form with lets say an atom processor and SSD and etc. etc. but when you would dock it into a docking station it would use the dockings hardware. by this I mean that it would use the tablets hard drive and maybe even the ram but the point is that it would us a different CPU and GPU. any ideas or thoughts
 
docking stations are typically glorified usb hubs and may also include an additional video output port, as far as i know there are not docks with supplementary graphics and processor that can be used in that way.

This Asus is a tablet, notebook and Desktop. It will have Both Windows 8 and Android installed in the detachable screen which can be used in Tablet mode or laptop mode when hooked to the keyboard dock. When the screen detaches you can plug the keyboard into a screen and then you have superior hardware with Windows in a desktop mode.
 
the point of me asking is if no one has done it exactly as stated, then why not. is there a limit that I do not know of allowing such device to exist. and am I wrong that computer gamers would like such device and many others. I was just wondering. as for the asus that does it kind of what I am looking for its just two computer hardware set ups in one case.

The reason what you ask is so hard is when you brought up gaming, PC gaming requires a serious amount of hardware like a i5 to i7 cpu along with a dedicated GPU which in a tablet form factor would be unrealistic when looking at PC quality games for cooling or power supply.

Android and iOS both have quiet a few games which IMO are console quality like Nova 3, Need for Speed and Shadow Gun. Which work pretty well on touch screen can be played on a TV with either a HDMI or google tv for Android or for iOS using a Apple Tv.
