questions about youtube security

Hi I'd like to know what kind of information a public viewer would be able to obtain when I upload a video to youtube?

Would they be able to look up my original Gmail address? I don't want to receive junk mail!

By the way, can I have a different screen name shown to youtube which is different from the one in the Gmail?

I don't want my real name to be revealed

Thank you for answesr.

When I created the Google + account name I just made one up. It isn't linked to your account per say to other users that can SPAM you. I think Google is getting rid of G+, if they haven't already. Ever since Google took over the site went to shit. I had a nice channel all laid out with a nice background and all that is gone. I only log in to upload anyway.

And for the record, I created my YouTube account when YouTube launched! They should have never sold out.

Google+ is still around, but you do not need to use a Google+ account to leave comments anymore, thankfully.

Google has done great things with YouTube. Without Google behind them I doubt it would be as successful as it is now. No one really cares what your account actually looks like, people just click on your name to watch your videos.

YouTube provides several options to limit viewers from seeing your real gmail identity. Most of them are reasonably easy to select in the configuration menu.

However, my suggestion is the following: create another gmail account for YouTube and fill out only the information that you will not regret if viewers can see.
