When I receive mail through outlook express, somtimes a message says received 5 new emails but only 2 or three actually show up. Whats up with that.

What is meant by scraping the computer?

it probably has something to do with whether or not the messages you have already seen have switched from being unread to read, happens with me in outlook. I can sometimes click on an e-mail to read it and it still be displayed as new, then when I open outlook again, that message is included in the unread ones, dunno why exactly this happens but it isn't a really big deal
 
1. its a bug. there is a patch on the microsoft website somewhere i saw it a couple of months ago.

2. is when you get a big knife and scrape the paintwork of your computer.
