quick fan cooling question

never payed much attention to my cases fan setup til recently, and well it sucks from how the manufacturer set it up. They set it up so all the case fans are blowing in and none are sucking out.

The case pictured is the same case I have.
Here's how it currently is:

and here's my temps at idle (specs in sig):

Opinions on which setup would give me the best airflow?

Setup 1:

120 out, both 80mm in

Setup 2:

120 out, side 80mm out, front 80mm in

Setup 3:
120 in, 80mm side out, 80mm front out.

A more conventional way of doing it would be to have the rear 120mm fan blowing out, creating a wind tunnel affect in your case. You can try it and see how the temperature responds.

The 120mm in the rear is now sucking air out. Temp on the GPU went down about 3* but that's about it. Gonna give it a little bit and see if it drops more.

Hey man! I have the same case yours... X-Blade, right? :D

Anyways, for me, the side & front are both intake (side = 80mm, front 120mm), and the rear is exhaust. You'd want an even amount of intake + exhaust, so there's continual ventilation in the case... I'd keep option 1, in my opinion you're better off with more cooler intake in your case. Since you've got both 80mm, they run at faster speeds than the 120mm, but less CFM than the 120mm.

The golden rule to follow is: When you've got a hot spoonful of soup, do you cool it by blowing on the spoon or sucking air through your mouth? I rest my case! :D
have a nice day

Same case, yep.

That's how it currently is. We have similar set ups, mind posting your temps?

on initial startup of the comp, My cores average: (IDLE temps)

core1: 38-42
core2: 33-37
core3: 38-42
core4: 33-37

after leaving it on for a while, my idle temps are:
core1: 45-47
core2: 39-41
core3: 45-48
core4: 39-41.

GPU idles between 43-50C, its very inconsistent.

keep in mind its almost winter in australia so days are pretty cool... i'm worried in summer that my temps will easily be idling 50C+. Which is a concern...

Is your CPU on a stock cooler?

I don't feel quite as bad about my temps now that I've seen yours, esp considering it's quite hot in my apartment. Although I'm worried about this summer, I have a window unit, but other than that theres no AC in the house.

PCs been on since I changed my fans hours ago:

I have a Cooler Master Elite 300 Case. I put in 2 extra fans: the front and the side.

Here's a screen cap:

The high temp was while I was loading Toy Story Mania game, not really sure what was wrong with it because when I play Batman Arkham Asylum, it only goes up to 50C at best.

Is it normal that it's only showing one fan?

Yeah I have front intake, side intake and rear exhaust for mine. Works great running SLI'd 8800GT's even tho those cards run hot.
