Quick HDD install question.

Sorry to start a thread on such a small topic but this has been bugging me all morning. I got my new F3 in the mail last night but can't seem to get my PC to recognize it. It shows up in the device manager but I'm not seeing it when I go to "Computer" menu (or anywhere else).

I'm wondering if I need to do something with bios or drivers. I don't want to assume right off that it's a hardware issue.

hey bill, its prob because the drive is brand new and totally unformatted, so windows wont see it, download parted magic, its a linux based boot disc, it downloads as an iso file, burn this image to disc, it will create a bootable disc, restart your pc, and boot from the disc, once started select partion editor, im sure you will then see your drive, format it to primary ntfs file system.

It needs to be formatted and assigned a drive letter before your computer will see it and use it.

Click the Start Menu, Right Click on My Computer, Manage.
Click on Disk Management, locate the drive, Right Click and Format.

No other downloads or software is required to format a hard drive.
