Quick Memory Question

i just installed an additional 512mb of ram in my computer making it a gig of ram. When i go to start-control panel-system to see the amount of memory it says 0.99 GB of RAM. I just wanted to know if thats right or if something is wrong instead of it saying 1.0 GB of RAM.

try seeing how much ram is reported with cpu-z

Yeah this is a common problem. What Windows could be showing you is your RAM - RAM consumed by integrated graphics. However, I am not sure about what you have.
