My friend want to sell me his copy of office 2003 for 200.00, he claims it was never loaded on a system, if it were would i still be able to load it?

You could load it, but if it's already been registered via internet with Microsoft, you won't be able to get any updates. I'm not entirely positive if it's legal to sell ones copy, but what do I know? How much is a NEW copy of it? 200 sounds kinda high..

Or, you could download(or get it sent to you) the Beta version of Microsoft Office 2007.
I think they charge something like a US$2.00 fee for the download.

The software will work untill 1 July 2007... then it stops working and you would have to actually buy a copy.

You can download it from Microsoft's website here

You can also get a free 60 day trial of Office 2003 via download from their website here

Which version of Office 2003 is it? There are different versions and there are priced differences in each. Check which version is it and see if your friend is actually ripping you off or giving you a good deal.
