quick OC questions

okay, i know how to OC and stuff like that but i was reading this article tat ells me to set these settings like this:

CPU Thermal control - disabled
C1E Enhanced holt state - disabled
Intel Speedstep - disabled
CPU Spread Spectrum - disabled
HT Spread Spectrum - disabled
PCIe Spread Spectrum SPP - disabled
PCIe Spread Spectrum MCP - disabled
Sata Spread Spectrum - disabled


what does this do for me and what are all these spread spectrums? are these diasables truly necessary?
 
From what i remember i think they have something to due with canceling out electromagetic frequencies that emanate from the cpu. They stop interference with other electro-magnetic items. I don't think disabling them will them is truly necessary for i do not think it ever worked well to begin with... but then again i could be totally wrong. Furthermore i am much to lazy to do a google search for something i'm not interested in.. So if you really wanna know i suggest you google it. :P :P :P
