Quick Overclock Question...

Ok I'm a bit new to the whole over-clocking scene so bear with me. I just bought a 1.8 Ghz Intel P4 used and when I was looking in the bio menu I noticed that you could change the speed to 2400 Mhz. This would over clock the computer at 2.4 Ghz right? Now this seams like a drastic jump even for overclocking. Do you think that the cpu is originaly 2.4 Ghz, which has been ran at a lower speed? I have tried the computer out on 2.4 for a bit and it seems to run fine with no lock ups.. What the best way to find this cpu's original speed?

Run Prime95 (free program off of the internet), or better, run Folding@home for awhile. If they turn up with errors, you'll need to back it down. Are there other choices that 2.4Ghz?
