Quick question about SSD

Hey, guys. I just assembled my new PC with a 80gig OCZ Vertex II as the primary memory unit with OS and a 1.5 TB as secondary to put pictures, music, videos on. Is it normal for just the operating system (windows 7 64bit) and a few basic stuff (anti-virus, MSN messenger, Itunes [Music on my Secondary]) to take up 30 gigs?

yes id say somewhere around that, windows 7 does take up alot compared to say xp, and then it depends on what and how many programs you put in, and the odd files you have

That's about right. Mine takes 37 GBs with OS, Security Suite, Photoshop, GPU utilities, and a bunch of small monitoring utilities.

Thanks, guys. Also, when I install games, can I install it to my secondary 1.5 HDD and have it mapped to my SSD and not expect any problems?

Well, most games and other programs have the "custom install" option or "select destination directory" so you can of course load these programs on your secondary mechanical drive, though you won't have the benefit of faster load times for these programs. Not sure what you mean by "mapped" to the SSD.

An easy way to manage what goes to ssd is to change the default intall location. Then temporoarily change it when you want it on ssd.
Windows uses diff math to show disc size.
