quick question, new card.....

Hi, I just got a new ATI Radeon 7000 AGP Video card, and I am trying to hook up my TV as my monitor. On the back of the card, I have 2 ouputs. One is the regular monitor output, and the other is a S-Vid output. Which do I use? I am trying to figure out which cord to get. Help would be appreciated. I've tried to attach a small photo to show what the back looks like, but i'm sure you already know by me explaining it. Thanks.

Use the s-video one, but your tv has to have an s-video input too or you'll need a converter to whatever it is your tv has. Sound doesn't travel over s-video if you were planning on that though.

next question...

so my next questions is, should I just get a S-Vid to S-Vid cord? I've been told that I need to convert to the 3 prong hookup cord? Both my card and TV have S-Vid hookups. What is the best way to go?

if your tv has s-video, get an s-video cord. it is higher quality than the standard rca plugs. you wont have sound though cuz s-video is just for video, not audio.

thanks....

thanks for the quick reply. I'm actually not doing any gaming. I mostly use my computer for online poker (which I do for a living). Sound isn't a must, but would be nice. If I went to the RCA hookup, would the quality be that much less that it wouldn't be worth it? Thoughts?

i would stay with s-video if i were you. then all you need is one cord. with the rca you would need an s-video cord and then a convertor, then maybe an rca cord depending on the convertor.
