quick question-what does it mean with 3 shapes in corner when playing video

just trying to play a video on the internet and the screens black and in the top left corner there are triangle circle and square, what do i need to do to play the vid

unfortunately not a quick answer tho come on its not hard compared to proper computer problems

I sometimes have this problem but am not sure of the cause. Usually I get it when I am wanting to play flash games and I need to download somthing like macromedia flash player to show thw game. But I dont think I have ever ha it while trying to watch movies. I'll have a look around and see if I can find anything
