quick question

I am changing all the ram in my computer. as of now it has 2 gigs made up of 2-256 1-512 1-1024..i know bad bad bad. Anyway i need to make room for a total of 4 gigs is thare a differance in buying a 2gig set compared to buying two gigs by themselves. tia kyle
 
why do you need such performance?
there really isn't much difference unless ur SUPER multi-tasking and deal with INTENSELY insane imaging.. 1 gig.. IF 2 is enough.. but if u insist..ur better off buying 3 more sets of 1 gb to add to that one you already had. .

and make sure your motherboard supports 4 gig.. the memory type.. speed.. etc..
 
the mobo does support 4 gigs. Abit ic7-g I work with alot of video and i feel like there is still some room left. thanks for the reply
 
so do u want to just fill it up? .. well if ur working with video.. u'll probably be better investing in a graphics card.. what do you currently have? because it'll still llook bad with all those ram if ur graphics card sucks.
 
bfg 6800gt oc 256mb. And yes i do want to fill it up. Just doing some looking i found 1 gig by pqi turbo. Not to sure about the timing 3-4-4-8 i have not seen any with that timing. cas L of 3. Thank you for your help i am still very new to this stuff.
 
ok then.. find 3 seperate 1 gig RAMs that matches those specifications.. and your all set.. try to buy same brand.. dont mix n match..
