quick question about multi tasking

hi, im going to build a pc in a the next few months so im just doing abit of research.

ive read that pentiums are best for multitasking and amd is best for gaming.

im just wondering what is classed as multi tasking?

the computer im building will be mainly for gaming so i guess when im gaming il be run:

the game
teamspeak
xfire
and maybe fraps

does that class as multitasking?

also i saw a link in this forum before to a site that checks the prices of computer parts but i cant find it? does anyone know what the link is?

when u hear someone say multitasking, this is talking about surfing the web, listening to music, typing a word document, downloading programs all at the same time. intel processors are geared towards this. for what u want to do, the amd processor is the way to go. amd can handle multitasking, and intel CAN handle gaming. they are both excellent processors, but gaming...amd pulls ahead and mulittasking, intel is the way to go. what u want to do i wouldnt consider it multi-tasking, i would consider that moderate gaming.
