Quick Questions

I built my computer like a year ago. This is what i have.
Intel i7 920
Foxxcon Bloodrage
800W Crosshair PSU
ATI XFX 4890
6G OZC Ram
a Wireless card
case coolermaster storm scout

Now i have 3 quick questions.
1. I never installed drivers for my motherboard but everything works fine. im just wondering if it would benefit me in anyway of to install them.

2. Can i crossfire my ATI 4890 with like a 5770 and would they both work or would the 5770 run at the speed of the 4890

3. i cant seem to get to get my front sound ports to work, aswell as two of the four usb ports in the front.
 
1. Yes, I would install the drivers for your motherboard. Unless Windows Update found and installed the right stuff, you're going to want to update your motherboard with the latest drivers to keep it running the best that it can. Much like GPU drivers, which are always important to keep up-to-date, same goes for the motherboard.

2. From what I know, you can only Crossfire two cards in the same series (5770 + 5850) but not a 4-series with a 5-series, at least that's what I read from other forums and whatnot, but I could be wrong. IMO, you'll gain the most from two similar cards. Can anyone else follow up on this one?

3. Check your umbilical connections on your motherboard and make sure they're connected correctly or if they are, try disconnecting and reconnecting.

I think you can't crossfire with 5770 & 5850...
crossfire works as same series, what i mean is 5750/5770 or 5850/5830/5870
 
quick answer to your question 1. YES! drivers that comes with your device are designed to work with your device to its full extent. Using default driver may not allow you to use it added features.
