Quite a bit lost, whats your opinion

Hello everyone, I have an issue and am having troubles solving it so I thought I would swing by and see what you computer savvy persons have to say.

I bought my computer mainly for it to be a gaming computer. Here is my system information

So what I thought was that I would be able to run all the good games and all that stuff. But as I found out, I have the worst type of video card slot (no idea what im talking about). It is PCI.

All the new games require a graphics card that runs on PCI-express.

What am I to do to get the new games running well on my PC? A new motherboard? I want to do this without shelling out the most ammount of cash.

You don't need PCI express (PCIe) it's just the newest type of cards they have currently..... But you are in a predicament because PCI cards aren't very good and hard to find..... Your best bet is to buy a new mobo that at least have PCIe and hope that it works well with your system.... then buy a graphics card when you have the money.....

I was looking on ebay and was taking a look at all the different motherboards up for offer. How do I know which one is good, I tried reading up on motherboards but it all went in one ear and out the other. So that brings me to another question:

As far as being a gamer, what do I require in a motherboard? Or what should I be looking for?

I don't think you're going to have luck swapping boards in that case. HP is a serious pain in the ass. Even if you get it to work, your restore disks will probably cease to function once they find out that the board is not the same. Better just to ditch it and get something better. Next time avoid HP/Compaq.
 
They do it on purpose so there is no upgradeability in them and so you buy another one,if you still can,return it to where you bought it and maybe look into something else,find some with a PCI-E x16 slot...some HP comps do...my friend had the same problem as you which sucks for him cuz he cant play Counter-strike source with an intel integrated graphics
