Quite possibly the worst idea ever?

No shit... lol WARNING: Submerging your hardware in mineral oil will void your warranty.

but yeah i do think that may be a better idea just don't put a monitor in water no matter the circumstance.
 
Well, its novelty.....i could see me having it for giggles xxx not my main rig but maybe a home file or print server or sommat :)

The oil has a higher heat capacity. I think the system also runs quieter (less need for high speed fans), the only fans would be the ones on the back of the aquarium, which wouldn't need to run at high speeds (referring to my link, not the one by OP from craigslist, although the one on craigslist has no fans at all).
