Hi, I jst down to my local computer shop(I live in the country there is only one computer shop in my town) and I was quoted ~AU$220 for a Seagate internal HDD with 160GB and an 8Mb cache installed. I was wondering if this was good price?

No way! I have a Western Digital 200G SATA 7200RPM with 8M Cache I'm trying to sell for $100 USD, which seems to be about $140 AUD.

I ship internationally ;) LOL

You must know somebody in the States who will buy the HDD and ship it to you ans say it was a gift to avoid the fee's.

Yeah, I've saw 160 gigs internally for around $90.00. I just bought a 120 for around 69.00. I'm sure you could search around on the net and find some good deals as well.

Things cost more here in Australia, but that's FAR too much. I just got a 250GB Seagate SATA drive with an 8MB cache for AU$149. www.staticice.com.au will give you the best prices on components within Australia. My favourite place for buying components is www.msy.com.au. They will ship Australia wide, which should still be far cheaper than paying that price!
