He means OpenOffice.org to Microsoft Office.

I've used both and they both work well. If you dont use the advanced features in word then openoffice will be more then plenty. It includes all the basics and some advanced features, very good if you dont feel like spenind hundreds of dollars on word.

Well if you can get either for free, deffienetly get Microsoft Office, OpenOffice.org is mainly meant for people who dont want to but Office.

One cool thing that OpenOffice has is that it includes a graphing calculator program, which pretty much puts a graphing calculator on the comp.

All it is is another word processing program, Microsoft Office is better then openoffice.

Not really much point if you have microsoft office anyway. Although there realyl isnt any harm in having both. :)

I'd definately go for Microsoft Word (MS Office). I know the price is a little hefty, however it is very good, scratch that extremely good. Most of the features on MS Word allow you to do just about anything art, posters, documents, letters, web-pages and more. Final Word :P (or two) from me - Powerful Tool.

Everything you just said there openoffice can do, lol.

He said that he can get Microsoft Office for free, adn was wondering what he should get. So deffinetly microsoft office if you have the money for it, but open office is good for people who cant spend lots of money for a word processing program.

Sorr-ry, however, yes I am very lazy and I didn't read all the posts (not even all of the first). But MS Office is ultra user friendly. Perhaps the most user friendly
