I've heard good things bout this game, but i really havent played racing games since 2004... Also, how well would it run on my system? I want to be able to MAX this game @ 1280x1024 preferable with 16x AF and 4/8x AA.
The last racing game i ever played was "V8 Supercars Australia 2" (aka TOCA race driver)

Eh, I played it for a while and it just wasn't my game (I'm not a big fan of racers). And your system would come close to maxing it out, but AA might kill you.

Well, i'll buy it. i can always sell it if i want to. Also i OC'ed my 3870 a fair bit, but Overdrive wont let me OC any higher.

GPU stock speed = 776mhz, OC'ed to 850mhz
MEM stock speed = 900mhz OC'ed to 950mhz

At those speeds it outperforms my friends 8800gt, by about 5 fps in crysis.

it isn't worth it, the game sucks...hard.

It isn't a racing game, it is a bash and crash game because the ai won't let you go round a corner with them on the out or inside, they would rather just smash the crap out of you if you get within 10 feet of them. The handling isn't very good and neither are the cars physics really

the stockcar races in that game rock tough! :D

yea they are pretty fun, but they are just about the only thing that are :p

Oh i also like going on a track with a straight and bombing down, not brakeing at the end and watching the replay :P

Man I love this game, me and my bro play it on ps3 heaps!
It's fun as, if you crash you can sort of go back in time,, which can be pretty cool, don't listen to Aastii, he's just wrong (it's his time of the month me thinks:P).

What's the game like? Is it with all that "underground" crap from the need for speed games? Or is it more like professional racing? I like sliding around corners, crashing cars, and stuff like that. But i also like to race properly.
Can you customize your cars i GRID? like decals, tires, etc. That's what i like about need for speed games anyway

have you played DiRT? well GRiD is the exact same thing, except on asphalt.

it's supposed to be arcade/sim-ish but it leans more towards arcade. cornering and turning in general feel "floaty" but you do have to break before going 'round corners unlike need for speed where you can just fly by a corner at 180mph.

The game basically can't decide whether to be a sim and underground. Personally I didn't like it too much, it got repetitive really quickly.

don't start goose, you are just about the only person who loved it so far, everyone else was indecisive or didn't like it either.

I've just played it my friends pc. His specs are not as good as mine and he has it maxed, which is good for me :)
Secondly, you guys are right. The turning is "floaty". I have played DiRT and i liked it. The graphics are nice in GRID but they really need AA to look anywhere near decent. The AI, however, is shoddy. They really don't try to avoid you and it looks very much scripted, but when you restart (A Lot!) everything happens differently. I'm going to buy it, I only played 5 or so races, but don't all racing games get repetetive? I can always dump it on ebay for $20 if i end up hating it.

noooooooo. Le Mans 24 hours for playstation i played to death and will still happily play now, still have it and was playing a couple of weeks ago :P Forza i could do the same, there are f2p games that i could do the same, l4s is one as an example, that is a hella cool game, very realistic in many ways too, so they don't get repetative really. Yea it is the same track and similar cars, but every race is different.

I've just been playing the game (i bought it) i like it so far. The turning could be better as i said before. I'm liking how you can do massive multi-car crashes that send cars and parts flying into the air, watch the unfolding carnage... then rewind and watch it all again!!
Is there any way to save those replays? If not, i'll just use FRAPS
