Radeon 3870x2 No dual monitors?

I have 2 Radeon 3870 HD cards on Crossfire and I've read that you can't have multiple displays, is there a way around

I'm running Vista home basic, and it says Vista is the reason. Now if I switch to XP pro 64 bit will I be able to use more than one monitor, and would anybody know how many monitors? Both cards have 2 slots for monitors, and 1 S-video port each.
 
From what I've heard you can't use dual monitors with CorssFire, I wasn't aware that it was an OS limitation, more of a firmware/hardware issue.

I have no clue, but thank you for the reply.

Well now I hate crossfire... I was hoping it'd work if I had XP. The ATI site just said that dual monitors won't work with Vista, but I"m not sure if it knows I'm doing crossfire.
 
why do you need two monitors anyways, just alt+tab when you need to look at something else.. after you pause whatever you're doing lol

Short answer: College.

I like to be able to look at my research material and the actual document I'm writing without having to stop and look back and forth several times. I can just look at one monitor and type without needing to tab.

Also I can watch a film while studying or chatting with friends, or play a game while checking e-mail...

Anybody with multiple displays understands just how much more you get done.
 
Now you can research material, type a document, watch a film, check your email, play a game, and still have a monitor to spare all at the same time! Haha sounds sick.

I don't have two monitors, but, Yes. Completely! I use them in College for research and 3D work and stuff, I'm going to use 'em again at Uni. I get home and I'm all disappointed I can't drag my stuff over because there's a wall in the way. :rolleyes:

yeh i loose mine on 2 monitors lol-!

my girlfriend switches one off by the power button then wonders why the mouse pointer has dissapeared looo----- it makes me laugh cos she is looking on screen close up trying to find it!!!!
