Radeon 5750 or GeForce GTS 250?

So I already own and had my mind set on the GTS 250 for my new build but a friend offered me a Radeon 5750.

Which is the better choice and how much better is one over the other? I've tried reading some other sites on this issue and can't get anywhere.

Take the money out of it, which is a better card? I'll be using just 1 monitor, 500w PSU, motherboard and other details are still pending...I just want to know which of these cards a gamer would prefer.

Brand of PSU would help. I'd say 5750 as it's a newer card. More power efficient, newer features, etc.
 
No cash for either...own the gts and 5750 is free.

GTS 250 is made by Galaxy and HD 5750 is XFX.

PSU is corsair.
