Radeon 5870

i think you mean the 4870-4890 price drop?

I honestly doubt they will drop that much....you can already pick up a 4890 for £130.

i do think the 5000 series will cost alot when it first comes out though.

I'd just wait a month or two after they are out and see how the prices go. Once they are readily available and some more benchmarks come out on midrange systems (which is what most people have) we will see how prices go. I also want to see what nvidia is dishing up.

4850 for $60 bucks that day will own :D

I got my 4850 for $99 with free shipping which I though was super cheap. Look at the 4650 it still is $50 and look how long it has been around. By the time a 4850 cost that much it probably wont be worth buying.

nah, i think we'll get there pretty soon. not in terms of mainstream pricing, but I bet there'll be deals where you can get it that cheap within the next 3 months.

edit: it's already been there:

I wouldn't count on it it's going to be a good while before the 4800 series cards go down that much in price. Also I wouldn't count a sale I don't see it going below $85 this year unless you count rebates which I don't.

I've seen the 4850 at $89.99 before just wish I had the money :)

You can usually pick one up on new egg for $95 with free shipping. I got the one in my sig for $99 free shipping and it's an awesome card for the price. Although I wish I would of spend the extra $45 on a 4870.
