i have 2 options i want to do
currently i have 4gb of ram
should i get a radeon 7770 oc edition + 4gb ram (so in all i will have 8)
or just the gtx 650ti
which setup will increase my performance more...

Technically the 650ti would be better, but if you can swing it a 7850 is barly more expensive, but a good bit faster, but i wouldnt buy a 1gb 7850 cuz you need more than that at 1080p to actually get the true performance from a 7850.

But pf the 2 options i'd go for the 7770 probably

the 550ti sucked donkey, and with graphics card there's a lot more than the core count to look at and i dont think each core in the new gen is as powerful as each in the last gen either. Benches are the only way to see really

But the new drivers close all those gaps almost completely IIRC, but for a little more you can get this

there is a big performance difference from the 7770 to the 7850.

No, they can take a while to update drivers, or at least they used to, i think they are getting their crap together in that aspect though.

it will take a while to save up and i currently have a athlon x2 so ifi upgrade i wont reallly notice a difference.... tell me which one you would chose out of those 2 i showed u ... and why

And sorry but i gotta go to sleep so you can either wait like 6 hours or if you are stuck between those 2 no matter what then get the 7770 IMO

On high res it is nearly fully gpu dependent, i know a guy who was maxing stuff at 1080p with a celeron g530 and a gtx 480. And look for some random thing s to do for a few bucks and try building a computer for a friend or something for a few bucks

but wont it bottleneck?? i think that what happens with mines athlon x2 and radeon 6670, i watched videos and people who have quad core it does better

yes, id say your cpu is going to bottleneck anything above the current vard you have. if you are to choose between the 2 cards, (7770 vs 650 ti), id go with the 650ti. your 4 gigs of ram should be fine for now. switch to a quad core as soon as you can after getting your 650ti, then after the cpu, up the ram to 8 gigs. :good:

since i was pretty tight on budget i already bought the 7770, but it is the overclocked edition on both the core clock and ram clock so i think it will have somewhat better performance than the original... and i yeah the rest like u said, will get a quad core phenom x4 black edition and more ram. Hopefully i can play bf3 on medium settings 1080 with 40+ fps.
