Radeon X850XT or 6800GT

i just got a Compaq Presario SR1630NX and im planing on buying a video card my budget is $290. i would get the 7800Gt but i would have to get a new psu. so any suggestion whuch is better. for games like city of heroes and bf2 and also city of villains.
 
yea it does, but the computer only has a 300watt psu and the only 6800GT i could find with a 300 watt or more power requirements was the bfg 6800Gt oc. all the x850xt only requires 300 watt.
 
I would strongly recommend buying a new psu if you want to get either of those cards. How many hard drives, cd drives, and pci cards do you have installed?
 
1 hard drive ,2 cd drives and pci modem i think. i have a 450 watt psu from my old computer which is about 2 months old that i bought when my computer kept on restarting but i didn't install it, the place that fixed the computer did it. i guess i will just use that one. im a newb and dont know how to install a psu thats why i was running from that.

psu's are pretty easy to install. First unplug the powercord on the back of the psu, the purge the psu by hitting the power button a few times. Then, unplug all the molex, motherboard connecters. Next, unscrew all the screws on the back of the psu connected to the case. Then can slide the psu forwards and out of the case.
