Radio on my comp?

Is there any way that I can record radio on my computer using a radio or an mp3 player? I have a turtle beach riveria sound card, and onboard sound that is not connected. How would I hook this up, if I can?

well, it really depends on what kind of connections your radio or mp3 player have, the mp3 player is probably your best bet (if it has a radio in it of course), the headphone jack is an output socket so if you get a normal 3.5mm audio jack cable you can plug one end into the mp3 players headphone socket and one into the souncards "LINE IN" socket, open up a sound recording program and set to record from LINE IN. And there you go, DONE

The part that might stop you is finding a prgram that is free. There are huindreds of them that can do this but its finding one thats free thats the problem.

Both have a regular headphone jack, so that is not the problem. The problem is that the sound card does not have a line in, but the integrated does. Is there any way that I can have both plugged in and working?

BTW, get Audacity, it is totally free and very useful

Ok, thanks for the tip. Erm.... im not sure if there is a way to have them both enabled and working, in fact im pretty sure its impossible, but seriously are you 100% sure that your soundcard doesnt have a kline in ocket, not even a microphone jack.....??

If it doesnt then there are cheap sound cards like £10 (USD $20), take a look on ebay, they are fairly decent for the price and if you get a 5 channel card it will have EVERYTHING that you need, of course there sis always the full sound card maret, like sound blasters audigy rand or even something in the £30 range from people like philips or SONY.

CONSIDER UPGRADING........!!!

It has 4 3.5mm jacks, 3 for the speakers and 1 for a microphone. It also has a funny little square black connector, and a joystick (i think) connector. It is 5.1 channel. Are you saying that it will work OK if I hook up the radio into the microphone jack instead of the line in? Aren't they basically the same thing?

this is my sound card
