Setup:
Mobo: Gigabyte ga-p35-ds3p
CPU: Q6600 @ 2.4ghz
GFX: Nvidia 460 GTX
HDDs: 2x Seagate ST3500418AS 500gb (in raid 0) and OCZ 60GB Vertex 2E SSD
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (running on the SSD)
Recently I've been getting the "No boot disk" error a lot, although I've pretty much ignored it as it always seemed to work on the second attempt (after I pressed enter). Anyway this morning when I tried to boot the error was more persistent, but I eventually managed to boot after a few attempts only to discover for some reason my 2 drives in raid 0 (where all my documents etc were stored) was inaccessible. All the partitions that were on it are still visible through My Computer but non of the files are present (although oddly the folders are still there). The disk manager under Computer Management also didn't report any problems so I tried running chkdsk on the drive but it came up with an error stating it could not check a "raw" partition. I then tried ****** partition manager where it stated my entire raid 0 is now unallocated space.
All that was true up until just a moment ago as I was writing this thread and a BSOD popped up (see photo below) which didn't really change anything except that now Disk Management has noticed the partitions are RAW.
Anyway the RAID is still intact in that in the raid setup screen on boot it doesn't report any problems and windows still recognizes the 2 drives as one but non of the data is accessible.
Ideally I'd like to return the raid to what it was before but if anyone knows a good way to recover the data that would suffice (I'll just buy new HDD's).
Thanks in advance!
