is it worth it to run a RAID 0? is the speed increse worth the risk of losing all your info if a drive goes bad?

I've read some stuff online that says it is, others say its not

I have 2 750gig Western Digital Caviar Black drives

thanks everyone

It is really not that much of a performance increase and for the average user or gamer it is unnecessary, unless experimenting or learning how is your goal.

As long as you have a backup solution a RAID0 array IMO is pretty neat to setup, especially if you have multiple hard drives (I used to have 4x 250GB drives), it does increase transfer rate speeds which would decrease game loading time. But as you said the cons are that it's more likely a drive will fail causing total data failure.
