raid help

ok i have a p6t deluxe/os mb
2 wd 1tb hd
and 1 seagate 250 gb

what i want to know is what should i do to put these in raid i want the 250 for the OS and the other 2 for data and storage.
i am very new at this so please be as descriptive as possible . or will it be as fast to not use a raid config. i want it as fast as possible.

will the 250 be faster because it is a smaller drive. or does it matter a 7200 rpm is a 7200 rpm.

Go here and click on RAID Overview. It will give you descriptions of the various RAID levels with advantages and disadvantages of each. If you want increased read/write speed you’ll want RAID 0, (2 or more drives), or RAID 10, (minimum of 4 drives). If you want redundancy, you’ll want RAID 1, (no performance boost), or RAID 5 or 10. All have advantages/disadvantages, risks/benefits. You’ll have to decide which, if any, is best for you.
