Im using a GA-81915PL-G mobo, when i disable raid, my dvd-rw drive won't display on my computer.
Is there a way for my dvd drive to be detected without raid?

sounds like you need to change your setup to where that ide port is setup as ide and not raid. Or maybe you have it on the wrong port. Check the bios first for raid setup options.

i think you may have an IDE channel and 2 RAID channels... in total 3 IDE channels, refer to your motheboard manual and see which one is not part of the RAID and make sure that your DVD drive isn't on there

this is what it says
2 IDE connection (UDMA 33/ATA 66/ATA 100/ATA 133) compatible with RAID, allows connection of 4 IDE devices (IDE2, IDE 3)

what does this mean>.<, sorry, im a begginer at comps..

basically it allows you to connect up to for IDE drives to your system. at the various transfer rates listed (udma 33 / ATA 66 / ATA 100 / ATA 133) however it is compatable with RAID which means you can turn the RAID functionaility on and off (which you already knew).
Now that you show this information i have a feeling that you have the jumper on the back of your drive set up incorrectly. If the drive is set up on the cable alone make sure that it is set to master. I think, although i cant be 100% sure, but when you enable the RAID functionailty of your system it ignores the jumper setting on the back of the drive and as i think RAID on IDE channels will only detect one drive this is why the drive is detected on RAID and not in standard IDE mode
