Raid0 & Raid1 together?

I'm planning to build a new i5/i7 system. I want to have 2 HDD's in Raid1 just to be safe, and they will be backed up onto an external drive as well. So failure factor is taken care of. They will just have photo's,docs etc... What I want to know is can I have 2 Hdd's/SSD's with the OS & games in Raid0 on the same system?
I know Raid0 is prone to fail but I don't mind, if it's just the OS and stuff I can re-install it doesn't matter.
So hopefully giving me a heaps quick pc for boot time, gaming & just general operation, but the security of all my crucial stuff backed up on the Raid1.
Does that even make sense?

Running RAID 10 (0+1) will negate the speed of the SSDs as they wil have to wait for the data to be mirrored to the RAID 1. RAID 10 needs 4 identical or at least similar drives to work as intended - Speed of RAID 0 + Security of RAID 1. Run RAID 0 with the SSDs and backup to external for security of data, if you need that kind of speed. Personally, I'd run RAID 1 with SSDs - Still fast, but with effortless and constant data security, though you do end up with less storage space.
