I bought some new RAM today, 512Mb to get my computer finally going
after putting the 512 into the empty slot and switching it on, it would only detect the 256Mb stick already in the computer. I swapped them round in the ports (theres only 2 ports), and after switching back on, the 256 would still be the only one working. I decided to try the 512 on its own, which indeed worked by itself. But when I put the 256 back in, the computer goes back down to 256.
Ive searched around the forum for ideas (I took the battery out the mobo for a bit, and changed BIOS settings), but nothing was successful.
My friend said it could have something to do with latencies. Is there anything I can do about this?
Thanks
