I have 4gb's (2x2gb) of Kingston 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) in dual channel. But i also have 2x1gb sticks of Kingston 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) from my old system. Is it even worth putting the old sticks in the remaining slots with the speed difference?

I certainly second the notion there. Besides slowing one set to the other's speed memory wise the actual need for 6gb even the 8gb max belongs to the engineers at this time. There's no game or desktop program on the market that even sees a need for 4gb at this time.

The next two generations of Windows and softwares/games that will eventually be seen will then see that need. By then the chipsets seen on boards will also support more then 4gb maz as they do at this time. Put in 8gb to see only 7gb before the any deficiancy seen in the OS.
