RAM cards?

I ordered two 1G RAM cards for my computer. My question is, though, I currently have two 256MB cards now. I have four slots. Should I take the other two out, or just add the new ones in the empty slots?

I am upgrading so that I can start playing World of Warcraft. :D

My computer is oldish...but adding the RAM should work, I hope..

HP Compaq Presario SR1603WM
AMD Sempron(tm) Processor 3200+
1.80 GHz, 448MB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

Hopefully you bought the right type of ram, because that system is ancient. And maybe a graphic card would help too?

I used crucial to scan my system, so I am pretty sure i got the right ones..

I got two of these..

We used crucial.com when my mom upgraded her RAM, and that's where I got my second card to up my RAM to what it currently is. :o

I believe that my graphic card is ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Series.

So is it okay to just add, having the two differnt sizes doesn't matter?

And is it as easy to install a new video card as it is the RAM?

You should be fine putting them all in but at 2GB you should have lots if you want to remove the 2x256MB that you already have.

The video card should be easy enough as well, just make sure your power supply is big enough for what you try to add. Your system has an open PCI express slot.

Okay, I'll just add the memory then, and leave the others in there.

And I'm not sure what a PCI express slot is... Would that be for the graphic card?
