ram choices

Keep in mind the exchange rate extreme-pc is in canadian dollars, it's still slightly cheaper at newegg but not 1/2 price.
 
because newegg doesnt ship to canada. and i can go pick it up from this place. its also in Canadian dollars.

i ahve an intel P4 3.4 northwood why does that make a differance?
 
It doesn't really matter what CPU you have but since you have 1GB in dual channel already you might as well take the pair unless you want to lose dual channel.

i was planning to buy two of the single ones to make it dual channel, and it would still be a better deal (price wise) and the timings are lower (i think that means they are better) is this not correct?
either way i'll be getting 1024megs of ram.
 
thats right the lower the timings the better the ram, its not a huge difference though, and they will run at same timings as the rest of your ram.
 
you could also try looking at www.ncix.com they usually have some good prices plus depending on what province you live in you can save on the PST (for me it pays for the shipping and I still save $10-$50CAD)
