ram confusion

ok i was just wondering about ram. i have noticed that some ram say

Compatible with Intel LGA1155 and AMD Llano/AM3+ platforms
Intel XMP support for 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors

the motherboard i selected runs ddr3 ram so i am just a little confused

also if anyone could point out what voltage of ram my motherboard supports let me know. i know some are listed at 1.6 vs 1.5

DDR3 ram work in any board that fits DDR3 ram. The number after it (2400, or in your case 1866) just tells you how quick it is, so-to-speak. Your 1866 will work in the MoBo you selected. If you opted for a MoBo that supported 1866 and got 2400, it would still work, but would clocked down to 1866. It seems confusing, but the MoBo will make sure it plays nice.
