RAM/CPU/Mobo speed matching

I read the RAM FAQ and couldn't find any direct answers to this question.

I have an E6750 CPU (1333Mhz Bus) in an FP-IN9 SLI motherboard (800/667/533 Mhz ram).

Excluding latencies and product attributes, what is the fastest RAM I could put in? I currently have DDR2-800/PC2-6400 RAM installed. Did I make the right choice given the motherboard and CPU?

Also, if I had picked a different motherboard, could I have used DDR2-1066 Mhz ram or DDR3-1333 Mhz ram with the same processor? Would it make a significant difference in performance to switch ram and motherboards to eliminate the bottleneck?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

According to what you posted, PC6400 is the fastest you can use without overclocking.

Your RAM isn't a bottleneck, keep in mind it's dual channel.

With a different motherboard you could use faster RAM but IMO the performance increase is not worth the cost.

But shouldn't a jump from 800Mhz to 1333Mhz produce some kinda fantastic results for gaming? That's almost a 70% increase.

Only if that is the real bottleneck. If I make something faster that doesn't need too be it wont help much ;)
