I am about to purchase a new laptop. I was going to get 8GB of RAM, but right now there is a special to upgrade to 16GB RAM for free. I know there is a very little chance I will need 16GB of RAM as nothing really uses that much, but since it is free I think I might as well, right?
My question is, would having 16GB of RAM vs 8GB of RAM cause any sort of problem? I have heard things that too much unused RAM can slow your computer down and fail more often. I am not an expert so I wanted to see what anyone else knows or thinks. Or any other reason I should or should not get the free upgrade. Thanks.
