Ram disk

Is there any benefit to creating a ramdisk,(like from Dataram) as a paging file when using a ssd as the drive to hold your bootup programs? :D

im not sure if it will help, but i do know that it wouldnt hurt it at all. i would probably go ahead and give it a try. im messing around with ramdisk plus right now. ill try it too.

:)I will be happy to see how that went. I did some searching on the net and one answer I got was that there is more complexity with the ram disk having to be recreated from a cold boot, this negating any advantage. Also said was that a 256mb paging file was enough for a 4096mb cluster.

Just passing on unverified info.,:) but i did change my virtual memory to a fixed 256mb; will have to observe my pc.

Good luck with the ram disk!

If you are using the system memory for the ram drive, and using it for page file. it won't make any sense as the page file is use for when you runing out of system memory. so you take it from your left hand and put it to the right hand. it just make one more work for no benefit, unless you have a program that you access all the time and you want to dedicate a block of memory for it to be access faster.
just a thought.
cheers
