I have Vista Home Premium and wanted to know if I can go to 4 GB? I have 2 Kingston and wanted to also know if I should get the same brand and spec (PC6400) and/or get a new set/different brand (4) 1024 or (2) 2GB?
Do you have the OEM (original) version or did you go out and buy the disk? If you have OEM then you cant!! If your pc came with the full disk or you bought it then you can.
No not cracked, legal man. So chill. Thanks for the help.Torrent? I hope you get busted with a cracked OS!! You still have to reformat!! You cant upgrade an OEM version of Vista with another version even if its a cracked version.
Vista 32bit has an arbitrary limit of 3.25GB. 32bit OSes have 4GB of address space but the amount used for RAM varies. As far as I know, 32-bit will recognize a total of 4GB but, it includes your video card's VRAM as well. In other words, if you get 2GB more of RAM, you will have a total of 4GB RAM but since your video card is already using 512MB, Vista 32-bit will only recognize 3.5GB of RAM.
