there is 2x of them in my laptop now. Wanted to know if I can get any RAM like the DDR2 800 (pc6400)
or do I have to go with what it has?
If you also have any suggestions to what ram to get please do tell. thanks very much
oh i have the sony vaio vgn-nr120e, on some sites is was saying standard memory 1gig. 2x slots(does this mean i can have a stick thats 2gig?)

The maximum amount of RAM you can have installed on that laptop is 2gb (2x 1gb sticks) The specs of the RAM you need is 533mhz (PC2-4200), sure you can buy RAM at a higher frequency like DDR2 800 but it will only run at 533mhz.

Look for Memory Type : 2GB DDR2 533MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM
