Ram Help

Do you have other ram installed besides this stick? If so, its probably not compatible with the existing ram.

As I said before, you most likely got a bad stick of ram. As long as its installed correctly.

That don't mean nothing. Do you still have the old ram? Put it back in and see what happens. Did this machine work before putting in the new ram?

Then its a hardware issue of some sort. I would suggest you take it in to have it properly diagnosed.

According to the motherboard of that pc, the ram IS compatible with it so if it's not working it's probably dead. Before you send it back for replacement memory though, make sure it's actually seated in place before firing up the desktop. What you want to do here is hold it evenly at each side, and push down on each end simultaneously with a good amount of force until you hear it snap in. Try this on both slots, making sure it's facing the right way. If you still get nothing, request a return/rma or else buy a replacement set. If buying new ram, shop according to what the motherboard supports only.

Remove all USB components from your machine and set bios to default, and remove all non-essential hardware from the computer when installing Windows.

That means,

1 stick of ram
cpu
motherboard
1 hard drive

Then use an old school USB to PS/2 mouse converter for the mouse and a old school keyboard to run the Windows install.
