Hello!
I'm having a problem with my combination of ram, its not getting past POST.
The beep code is "BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..." and doesn't end till I power the computer down.
I can get the computer to pass POST if I use one pair or the other pair of ram, so I'm assuming its a compatibility issue of using both pairs at once.
I'm rebuilding a comp using;
-Asus p5n-e sli motherboard
-2x Samsung 512mb 1Rx8 cards (to find with google: m378t6553ezs-ce6)
-2x Vitesta DDR2 553 cards
Both pairs of ram work fine and all my ram slots on the mobo work.
I was under the impression that you put matching pairs into matching slots, but could have two separate pairs of ram.
(Like both Vitesta cards in the A1/B1 (yellow) slots, and the two Samsung cards in the A2/B2 (black) slots.)
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Please be patient with me, I know I'm a hardware newbie.
Thank you for your time, I appreciate it!
