Alright I bought this ram. http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16820145450
I put it in and it worked fine for about 2 hours then major issues started to happen. Windows basically had lots of curruptions. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it wouldnt let me with the ram in. Now what do i need to do to make this ram compatible with my board. I know it works with it but others with the a8n-sli board have had to make some changes to have it work well on this board. You guys now what it is? Thanks

In general, there's very little you need to do. According to Corsair's website, the RAM is fully compatible with that board. Corsair XMS has been known to be detected with the wrong timings, but when that happens the timings are usually too loose rather than too tight, so shouldn't cause stability problems.

All the same, you could try manually setting the timings, or increasing the voltage. I've also heard that this particular stick of RAM isn't always stable at the advertised timings, particularly where 2 or more sticks are used. You can consider loosening the timings, or increasing the voltage to compensate, which may be the 'changes' you're talking about.

While it certainly sounds like it is your RAM at fault, you may want to run memtest just to be sure. If the RAM fails, you should also be entitled to RMA it, which may be your best option, as you may simply have gotten a bad stick.

If they too tight than that will cause stability problems. Also could be the vDimm being set too low, XMS requires 2.75 if i recall
