Ram issues.

OK so im having a little problem with RAM.

here is my important stuff, computer is about a month old if that, and built it my self.

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel
ECS G43T-M LGA 775 Intel G43 HDMI Micro ATX Intel
Rosewill RP600V2-S-SL 600W ATX12V v2.01
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775
Vista Ultimate 64-bit

Now when i built it i only put the 4gb of RAM in at first, i didn't have money for another 4 so i was waiting...so i got another 4gb now and its the same thing, identical... now i tried installing the "new RAM with the "old" RAM and i put it in. i start it up and the computer turns on, but my HD doesn't boot up, BIOS doesn't run, and my monitor doesn't turn on... i thought maybe the ram was DOA but i swapped out the old with the new and it works. So my next thought was hey maybe slots 2 & 4 are bad on the MB, i swapped from 1 & 3 and put it in 2 & 4.. works like a champ, so that is crossed off the board for the MB being defective. Ive tried installing just 3 sticks on 1, 3, and 4 and also no luck...Also CPUz shows that my ram is always installed in 1 & 3, putting it in 2 & 4 doesn't change the slots for some reason. I thought hey maybe its my BIOs needs to be updated, so i went to ECS downloaded the most recent BIOS(08/07/15) that also didn't fix the problem(CPUz still shows the old version on the BIOS still installed also). The only thing i can think of is maybe my power supply isn't good enough. OR i have this SM Bus Controller under device manager that has a yellow (!), i tried updating the driver but i get no luck what so ever, it doesn't update(i don't even know what the hell it is)...

Im not really computer smart, and all my buddies that have helped me out so far are clueless. does anyone have a idea??

here is some pics of cpuz, and voltage. maybe it can help you guys

You still could have a defective board. However, you do have a driver problem. uninstall that item, reboot and see if that fixes the problem. If not, you still have your motherboard cd correct? Just reinstall the chipset driver. If that don't fix it, then you most likely have a bad motherboard.

So putting all the RAM in causes nothing to happen? No beeps or anything else?

nothing happens, even if i try just putting 3 in, does natta thing. turns on, lights go up, fans up and running, no monitor, no beep, no HDD activity.

alrite ill try that john, ill have to do it later feel really ill right now.

EDIT: here is my update i tried so far.

I downloaded this successfully
-Driver Name: Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility

-Version: v9.1.0.1007

i also tried downloading this, but it said i didnt meet requirments.
-Driver Name: Intel(R) Graphics Driver Package

-Version: v15.11.2.64.1554

-Update Description -For 946GZ/Q96x/G965/G3x/Q3x/G4x/Q4x
-Including:
Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver:v7.15.10.1554* Intel(R) High Definition Audio HDMI Driver:v6.10.00.2064

but i dont think the graphics driver package is really the problem.

so i installed the first one, and turned off the machine. put in the ram into 2 & 4 no luck :(, then i just tried 4. and still no luck...

BUT downloading the chipset from the ecs website fixed the SM Bus controller

I don't know. I can tell you it's not a driver problem. Do you have a pc speaker at all? If you don't, try getting a simple speaker and hooking it up as it should beep to tell you whats wrong.

well theres no beeps lol

i sent ECS a support email thingy, but they wont get it since they are on vacation intell the 4th lol
