RAM latencys

hi im bulding a pc for the conroe and need ddr2 ram i would like 2gig i want the G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NR PC2-6400 800mhz but its latencys 5 5 5 5 15 is this quite a high latency for gameing will i get lag?

I'm not sure you need 800 MHz Memory. Shoot for a slightly lower stick (still at least 533), which has timings as 4-4-4-12.

You'll want the DDR2-800 memory. It is the standard on all the boards i've seen for Conroe.

And you will not find much better timings for ddr2 800. The faster the ram the higher the latencies, to get anything you are looking at $300 to $400 for 2GB of ram. ddr2 800 would be the best option, the stuff you are looking at.

I assume your talking about this kit? Its not the lowest but those latency's are pretty good for mainstream DDR2 RAM.

Ya those really aren't bad timings for ddr2 800, if you want some crazy good ram like this, though your looking at super high prices. Those are some crazy tight timings for ddr2 800 though. I mean my ddr 400 runs at 2-2-2-5 and thats not running near the same speed, but for like $450 yikes.
