My DxDiag says I have 448 RAM when I have a 512 RAM card in there. It is a PC2700. Help? I have tried Defraging and it didnt work. I tried removing programs also.

I'm not sure if anything can be done. Some ram just doesn't work perfectly with some motherboards, although I've never heard of losing so much.

Hm, I have a nvidia GeForce 4 MX 420 (yes I know, it is ancient) with I think the latest driver.

do you have a motherboard with integrated video? Sometimes even when you have a video card, the integrated can still be using system memory.

does your motherboard have onboard by any chance? it might not be disabled and or your monitor might not be plugged in to the right VGA port if you do have it

Your computer might be allocating some RAM to the video card, which would explain the problem.

well, the only thing I see blue is a slot under the green serial plugin and to the left of a long pink plugin,

There is a blue plugin at the bottom for my moniter(I think).

Where is your monitor plugged in? Do both plugs look about the same? You might have both integrated and non.

ok BRB, i found an explination on how to do it.

EDIT: ok i did what it said but I couldnt find anything about an onboard graphics.
